Mystic Labs adds THCa to our lineup of Hemp-derived cannabinoids for you to enjoy! This natural cannabinoid is a precursor to THC. Simply add heat and THCa becomes THC! Our THCa Pre-Rolls offer a legal alternative to smoking Marijuana with very similar effects.

THCa FAQS

What Is THCa?

THCa is a non-intoxicating cannabinoid found in raw Cannabis plants. It is the acidic precursor to THC. THCa is not psychoactive like THC but may have potential therapeutic properties. When THCa is heated through methods like smoking, vaping or cooking, it undergoes a process called decarboxylation. During this process, THCa loses a carboxyl group and becomes THC. This results in similar psychoactive effects commonly associated with Delta 9 THC and Marijuana consumption.

What Does THCa Mean?

THCa is an acronym for tetrahydrocannabinolic acid. THCa is similar in structure to THC; the difference lies in the additional carboxyl group that makes it an acid. THCa is the acidic form of THC. Once the carboxyl group is removed, THCa becomes THC.

Is THCa Legal?

THCa and THCa flower are legal Hemp products. While federal laws prohibit Marijuana products and many THC products, Hemp-derived THCa is not a controlled substance and is legal as long as it is derived from Hemp and contains no more than 0.3% THC.

How Is THCa Legal?

THCa is not a psychoactive substance until it is converted to THC. Therefore, there are no federal regulations on this cannabinoid as long as it doesn’t contain more than 0.3% THC.

Does THCa Get You High?

No, this compound will not get you high unless you smoke it or heat it up. Once this non-psychoactive cannabinoid is heated it is modified and becomes Delta 9 THC.

How Is THCa Typically Consumed?

If you are looking for psychoactive effects, THCa must be smoked, vaped or heated to offer the benefits of THC. THCa can also be taken in its raw form, tinctures, edibles and more for its non-psychoactive benefits.

How Long Does THCa Stay In Your System?

THCa only stays in the body for a short time. However, THCa is typically used for its ability to become THC when exposed to heat. THC can be in the body for much longer. In hair, THC is detectable for up to 90 days. In blood, THC is typically only detectible for one to two days, but it can be longer for chronic users. Urine is most commonly used for drug tests. For a single or infrequent use, THC is detected for about three to seven days. For heavy users, THC may be detected for a month or longer.

What Is The Difference Between THC And THCa?

The main difference between Delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) and tetrahydrocannabinolic acid (THCa) is that THC is psychoactive and THCa is not. This is because of the acidic structure of THCa. The molecular structure of this cannabinoid is the same as THC except for the addition of a carboxyl group. THCa is a precursor of THC.

What Does THCa Do To The Brain?

While there isn’t a lot understood about THCa right now, it may have positive effects on the brain. In its raw state, THCa is not psychoactive so it won’t produce a “high” unless you smoke it or otherwise heat the compound which converts it to THC. Once it becomes THC, it binds with receptors in the Endocannabinoid System (ECS) which is how THC works to get users “high.” The ECS receptors are located in the central nervous system (which includes the brain and spinal cord) and the peripheral nervous system (mainly in immune cells).

What Are The Effects Of THCa?

Research has shown that this Hemp-derived cannabinoid does not offer intoxicating effects in its raw form. However, if you smoke, vape or otherwise modify this compound it can be changed into THC which does have psychoactive effects.

What Are The Health Benefits Of THCa?

There isn’t much in the way of published research on the benefits of THCa flower. However, in its raw form THCa may have several potential benefits. Some of the potential beneficial properties of THCa are:

  • Anti-inflammatory
  • Neuroprotective
  • Anti-nausea
  • Antioxidant
  • Analgesic
  • Antispasmodic
  • Appetite stimulant

Here are some known benefits of THCa:

  • Federally legal when derived from Hemp
  • It can be easily converted into THC which provides intoxicating and relaxing effects

What Is A High THCa Percentage?

The phrase "high THCa percentage" refers to the concentration of THCa in a particular Cannabis strain or product. What constitutes a high THCa percentage can vary depending on individual tolerance levels, intended use and personal preferences. However, in general, a high THCa percentage typically refers to Cannabis strains or products with THCa concentrations of 20% or higher. The average THCa percentage in Cannabis flower typically ranges from 10% to 25%, but it can be lower or higher depending on the specific strain and cultivation practices.

Customers seeking potent psychoactive effects may prefer cannabis strains with higher THCa percentages, while those looking for more subtle or balanced effects may prefer strains with lower THCa concentrations.

Mystic Labs THCa Pre-Rolls are made with pure THCa and contain a potent serving of 1.25g of THCa per pre-roll.

Where Can I Find THCa Near Me?

You can probably find THCa products in your local smoke or vape shop, Hemp dispensary or Cannabis store. However, shopping online for THCa is the easiest and most convenient way to buy these Cannabis products. Mystic Labs is a trusted Hemp product manufacturer and online retailer that offers federally legal, safe and third-party verified Delta 9 THC, HHC, THCa, Delta 8, Delta 10 and Kratom products.

What THCa Products Do You Carry?

Currently, Mystic Labs offers affordable THCa Pre-Rolls in three flavors including White Truffle, Biscotti and Ice Cream Cake. Choose our Pick-2 Bundle or Pick-3 Bundle for additional savings. You may also like our Delta 9 Gummies.

What Are The Potential Adverse Effects of THCa?

Once the THCa is converted to THC, you can experience the same side effects as with Marijuana and Delta 9 THC, especially at higher dose consumption. Some of the potential adverse effects of THC are:

  • Paranoia and anxiety
  • Increase in hunger
  • Red eyes
  • Dry mouth
  • Increased heart rate
  • Impaired cognitive function
  • Impaired coordination and motor skills

Can THCa-rich Cannabis Products Be Used For Medicinal Purposes?

Yes, because these Hemp products are federally legal and legal in many states they can be used to potentially help with certain medical issues. You can see some of the potential health benefits of THCa above. Also, THCa Pre-Rolls and other products that are typically used because of their conversion to THC can offer the same medicinal benefits as Delta 9 THC, such as anti-nausea, improved appetite, anti-inflammatory, reduced stress and more.
